Vodafone is all set to launch the much awaited ultra-low cost Vodafone 150 in India that it announced back in Feb. The handset is reported to cost a mere Rs.700. The phone has 1.0” monochrome graphic display, polyphonic ringtones, alarm, calculator, torch and mini USB connector. The battery life is claimed to be 400hours on standby and 5hours talk time.

While the branding war between the Indian handset makers like Karbonn, Maxx, Micromax, Videocon continued during the IPL season for their low cost handsets, Vodafone will be stealing the show it seems.
Vodafone earlier announced to roll out customized Opera Mini browser to run on low-cost handsets on 2G networks. Do we see a sudden attention from Vodafone to tap into the BoP segment?
